For a long time, I used to think God only talks to religious people.

I remember seeing a couple of times on TV when a sports person wins a match and he would say, “God was with me so we won today.”

I thought, “Would God really favour one person/team over another?”

I also thought God would only listen to me if I went to church, confessed, did the rosary and said my prayers every night.

But what about the people who didn’t do those things - does God simply leave them out?

The idea of God having a strong bias or preference towards a particular idea, person, religion or group, to the exclusion of others…just didn’t sit well with me.

And although my relationship with God was based on love,

It was the kind of love that came with rules and conditions.

So I became fearful of God. In fact, being God-fearing is seen as a noble thing.

I only came to question this more and more -

“Was this the epitome of God's essence? Surely not.”

And so I went on a search for truth.

But I keep coming to the same conclusion - every book, every person, every religion would say, “This is God’s way”, “Ours is the right way”, etc.

Until I began realising the search for truth cannot come from the outside.

It wasn’t ‘over there’, or ‘over there’….

It has always been…

Within.

God is within.

And the reason why I couldn’t sense it is because I was trying to listen to everything and everyone outside of me.

Here’s the thing - you simply cannot experience anything outside of yourself.

Hence, in order to experience God, you can only do that by looking inwards, not outwards.

Well, how do you know if it’s really God that you’re experiencing or having a conversation with?

Here’s what I understand…

God is always the HIGHEST THOUGHT.

That thought is filled with JOY.

God is the GRANDEST feeling.

That feeling is LOVE.

It represents the utmost love, pure and divine, untouched by fear, judgment, or wrath.

Sometimes we brush it off as intuition, a flash, a gut feeling, sixth sense, premonition…

But if this feeling resonates with your highest self (not with your false self/Ego)…

That’s God talking to you.

Remarkably, God is talking to EVERYONE ALL THE TIME.
